24
It began 7 days prior where Jose started to give me these cute pictures with little love notes on the back of them. It was really sweet. He knows I am encouraged mostly by words and it was so nice to reflect back on a few memories weve shared together.
On a Friday night, my family and I watched Guardians of the Galaxy together! We loved it! We hadn't seen it yet, and we had a great time. WE LOVE GROOT! We ate at the nearby Kiku Sushi for dinner :)
Afterwards I went over to the Pomona complete, where I assumed I was going to workout with Jose. I spoke with his BFF Mark and he headed over to do his business in the toilet... Little did I know he was stalling me! He came out and told me he needed to get a greek bible from our friend Yek. So we headed over there really quickly and knocked at their door. We knocked... knocked again.. and were a bit concerned it was taking a few minutes to just hand us a book. Yek was shouting he was changing...I saw it was dark inside and thought they were doing the marriage dance.. YA KNOW. Then the door opened and yes it was dark... Jose walked in and I was like whyyyyyyy (i now need to take off my shoes!) then I saw a familiar face.. PAM!.. then I was just confused. I hear a faint familiar song of my favorite boy band- Backstreet Boys and just loud terrible singing of "Happy Birthday". My church fam so lovingly last minutely were in cahoots with Jose as he planned a quick get together, Reese made a beautiful homemade little cake and we celebrated my birth! It was a surprise indeed! Oh yeah... there was no time to work out.. oh wells!
Saturday morning I went Avocado House with my girls SMAT. We all caught up, ate together, laughed, and enjoyed each others company!
Sunday I was blessed by Jasons preaching at Crossview. There was another surprise that my pastor ruined! I thought I was just going to go out to dinner with jose at our fav- Umami! But then as PJ was sharing some big news- some transitions with out church- he revealed we ALL would be celebrating. Everyone stared at him awkwardly as he meekly said... suuurpiiiise...It was funny :) It was great to be with everyone that night!
I cam home that night to BIG GIANT BALLOONS! Ive always seen these and always wanted just one! My family shared their love with these and a handful of gifts. Thankful for their support :)

Oahu 2014
I really love Gods creation of work and rest.
Working for the first time for 1 year without taking any sick days, I went on my first paid vacation! SO SWEET. I saw Gods kindness in it, and also the necessity to step away from my busyness!
HOWEVER, I made sure we jam packed our time there! haha
As soon, as we got there, we had a family bbq dinner with my moms side of the family. The Lum family! We ate, played jump rope, caught up, and played with the new little addition to the family: Smores the dog!
We relaxed the next day until we went to the weekly Sunday dinner where I got to see my dads extended side of the family :) That was nice :) Monday came along, and I demanded we got to the beach 3 times that week! So we headed over to Ko Olina for lunch and swimming time. Twas a very hot day! We then went to my cousin Karas house to spend time with her, her husband goofy Chris, and their brand new adorable baby Callie!!!! Tuesday I went hiking with my dad around Aiea Loop Trail! It was exhausting! Im not such a great hiker, and the slippery mud, humidity, and thick roots didnt help! haha. We headed over to Kaaawa Beach for some more beach time, dinner, and crab catchin! Wednesday my auntie took my sister and me shipping at Ala Moana for early birthday gifts :) so sweet!!!! Was fun catching up and eating at cpk! Then I spend the night with my cousin Kristen and we ate acai bowls and caught up! Thursday was cousins day! We grabbed scones, i purchased some pretty shoes, we went to the beach, then made dinner together, and ate together! Loved it. Friday the Young fam headed to Waikiki for the weekend, plenty food, game time, beach, and fun convos. Sunday was my last Sunday dinner before I headed home. It was really lovely. Im thankful for my second home in Hawaii :)
